First Shooting Sports Results from Tokyo 2020 Olympic Games -The Firearm Blog

Last week, with one full year of pandemic-induced delay over the original plans, the Tokyo 2020 Olympic Games finally started. Shooting competitions already offered us finals in the Air Rifle and Air Pistol categories and in Skeet. Here we’ll have a brief look at the results so far.

The first shooting matches of these Olympic Games weren’t strictly firearm-related, yet we hope to be forgiven for including them.

Air Rifle

  • SILVER – GALASHINA Anastasiia ROC – ROC
  • BRONZE – CHRISTEN Nina SUI – Switzerland

Men:

Skeet

Hitting 56 clay in the final, the American shooter Amber English totalized an Olympic Record.

Men:

  • GOLD – HANCOCK Vincent USA – United States
  • SILVER – HANSEN Jesper DEN – Denmark
  • BRONZE – ALRASHIDI Abdullah KUW – Kuwait

Just like his teammate, Vincent Hancock managed to reach an Olympic Record with 59 clays, just 1 short of the perfect score (and World Record).
